Feral
I admit to having become a little feral the last few days - it has been so incredibly hot that to dry my hair properly brings me out in such a sweat that the result is needing to have another swim or shower immediately - and then 10 minutes later, the heat has ruined any style at all. So it has been tied up in a band, clipped back away from my neck. Even worse, pulled back after swimming and just left.
Case in point is the other night when Annette and I went to a 7:30 pm yoga class after being on the beach. The pull of this class was that it was a teacher from Zagreb (and it was free). I rushed from the beach, pulled my yoga shorts on, motorbike helmet and we left. The photos show how wild I looked.
Yesterday morning, I decided I would Make An Effort. I blow dried my hair (working myself into a sweaty lather) pulled a dress on (I've been living in my denim shorts). I then did the ironing which added to the lather, rushed down to the kolodvor to see Lynarre off to Dubrovnik, then to the shops to grab some food for lunch on the boat with Annette and Srdjan. Incredibly hot. See? No point whatsoever, better to stay feral.
We headed to another cove on Otok Brac - a deep finger of water amidst pine trees. The smell of pines and the thrum of cicadas...
We ate like kings, devoured macaron and krempita, slept, read, dived, swam. The water was 24 with cold springs coming up under the water. A gentle sea breeze worked its way over the boat... Could a day be spent in any better way?
Perfect days.
